Thank you for sharing that bit of knowledge. My son is three and a half years old and I just weaned him a couple of months ago. There’s such a stigma around not only breastfeeding, but extended breastfeeding especially. My mother kept asking when I was going to get him off the “titty”. I had already decided to nurse until his 2nd birthday, because of my religion, but he needed more time since it was more for comfort with him. He wasn’t able to self soothe and I didn’t want to just rip him away so the weaning process was slow.

So thank you because I was made to feel so isolated and ashamed because I was still nursing. It made my day to see that it wasn’t odd or unnatural to do what was best for my son.
